Where does she really live? LOL. Just kidding. Seriously now...my 7 yr old son just lost his first tooth. How much money are these things going for?
Tooth fairy question....?
Hell...these kids have it good. When I was young (early 90ies) I got like 25 cents until I was about 8 1/2 then I got 50 cents and I think like twice i got 75 cents. So nowadays, I'd say a dollar is probably going rate unless they pull it themselves or you know, something that deserves 1.50.
Reply:I think a dollar should do just fine
Reply:When i was little, it went for 1 dollar. Then when i was older, it went for 5 dollars. So around there.
Reply:I would give him one dollar.
Reply:MY DAUGHTER IS 6 ..I gave her a dollar..
Reply:I give My kids 1 dollar for each tooth
Reply:i lost my last one like 5 years ago and i got like $2 then so maybe like 3 or 4
Reply:They go from between $1 and $2 that should cover it.
Reply:I got a toy every time i lost a tooth...something little, not that expensive, and fun.
Reply:My 7 year old nephew gets $1 a tooth - but my 10 year old nephew gets $2 a tooth because he is older and the teeth are bigger.
Whatever you decide just remember that the tooth fairy has to pay the same for each tooth and as the kids get older they may expect inflation as well ;o)
Reply:I lost mine when I was five and got a dollar. My brother was two (it was in an accident on his bike... how you get in an accident with training wheels while your dad is watching you I'll never figure out, but my brother knows how to get into every accident imaginable) and got fifty cents and he was happy as could be. I think since your kid was seven you should give him a dollar. Maybe two since it was his first. I had a neighbor who got 20 dollars but she was a spoiled brat with no friends.
Reply:I give my kids two dollars and my kids are 7 and 11.
Reply:It really depends how much you want to give. I have heard anywhere from $1 to $5(thats what I used to get). I had a friend that used to get a $1 and then one of those little toys from the 99c store. Kids love to get little toys, they don't really care if it is only 99c.
Reply:A dollar should do.
Reply:I usually got between $1-$5 for a tooth.
Reply:I think its a buck for normal teeth, and two bucks for a molar. But I live in Canada and we have a $2 coin.
Reply:LOL! This one hits home. My greedy kid was getting $5, but then he complained "Why do I always only get $5?" So the next time I gave him a buck and told him maybe you hurt the tooth fairies feelings! Although it should just be a token/ magical gift like when I was little it was a quarter and I was thrilled, it seems the going rate is $1 or $5.
Reply:My kid's have no clue who the tooth fairy is They always were treated special by being taken out or something or getting to pick what they wanted for dinner, but it always came from mommy or daddy. or even grandma
Reply:Touchy subject. I always gave/give my kids $1 per tooth, but they know plenty of kids who receive more. I told my two that the tooth fairy takes the teeth and grinds them to make magic dust (a story I always liked). They now know that Mom is the tooth fairy, so can understand her monetary restraint, but we did have some tough times trying to explain why others got say $5 per tooth. Excessive in my opinion.
Reply:i think about a dollar
Reply:When I was a child, the going rate was $1. That was fifteen years ago though. I think for my son I'll go for $5.
Reply:The tooth fairy gave $10 for the first tooth and $3 for the next ones and $5 for special teeth like ones that had been filled or molars.. She has found that these days with the cost of living and all teeth are worth more than they used to be.
