What does the tooth fairy pay these days?

I'm 31 and my step-daughter just lost her first tooth. What is the going price for teeth these days? I say it should be $1 like I got when I was a kid. My husband says we should give her $5.

What does the tooth fairy pay these days?
$5 is too much. $1 sounds more reasonable.
Reply:not 5 dollars. id say a dollar, thats what i got. but im poor... north side birmingham represent
Reply:First tooth, five dollars isn't too overpriced. But the rest should go for around a dollar unless she lost them in a painful accident.
Reply:$5 bucks is the going wage
Reply:My kids get $5 a tooth. It's expensive!!
Reply:why not 2.50$?

its in between, its not too much, it has .50 at the end so it sounds better...

like ur kid saying "I got 3.00$"

or "I got 2 dollars 50, wow!"

2.50 sound cooler.
Reply:For your childs first tooth i would say 5-10 dollars. It seems like a bit much but its her first tooth and it is really important to the child. Dont be afraid to give her a little bit extra! Children love the feeling of having a fantasy figure that rewards them (Santa, Tooth Fairy, etc.) Have Fun!
Reply:First tooth $5 OR a beanie baby or webkin or some stuffed animal, after that $1 for eacht tooth. But if it is pulled by a dentist, pay $5 or a stuffed animal.
Reply:first tooth should be about 2-4 dollers then every tooth after that should be 1 $ then molars are 2$ thats how it works in my family and i hope it works for you too
Reply:The tooth fairy gave my daughter 2 dollars the first time, and note that said she was happy she lost a tooth, and each tooth after the first will be a dollar

Hint

Leave the tooth in a plastic bagie with a note for the tooth fairy

The tooth fairy can take the bag easy, and replace with one with a note for your step-daughter

Good luck

One dollar is plenty for a child. Look at how namy teeth a child will loose
Reply:I would say $3-5 for the first tooth.
Reply:WOW i got like 25 CENTS when i was little! i guess that tooth fairy is raising the price, like everyone else everywhere! but, i guess for first tooth thats fine.
Reply:give her $5 and an extra $20 for last night from me daaaaaaaaaaammmnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Reply:I give my kids $5.
Reply:Well...My boyz have 8 more baby teeth to go.........On their first one.....We gave them 4$ each..(they like the YUGI OH! cards...so they can buy 2 packs each).
Reply:dont give alot for the first tooth and give less for the rest because on her second tooth she will be wanting the same amount as the first toothe and that will be dissapointing. if you going with five do it if your doin 2.50 go ahead but just dont switch the amount once youve set it.
Reply:I give $1 each- and now that we're down to the last couple of teeth- and he's almost 12- sometimes, they just come out and it barely gets acknowledged! It's only really fun for a few years and the first few teeth- even kids know this! My grandson - whom I raise- doesn't make any fuss over losing a tooth and I just give him a couple bucks for every few teeth over the months. It's a natural process, not like something extraordinary the kid did, for heaven's sake. It's a "token" not a reward!
Reply:Well for my first tooth (im 11) i got 1.00 and a game.
Reply:Well when i lost a tooth, every time i got 20 dollars AND a new stuffy (stuffed animal). My family is inbetween poor and middle class, both my parents now work two jobs, not very well paying, but when i was little (i'm 13 now) i still got 20 dollars that went straight to a trust fund that my great grandma set up for me, that started out with $10,000 and plus all the teeth i've lost i'd say it increased about 300 dollars. What you should do is set up a trust fund and when they loose a tooth just the money in there and go buy a cute stuffy for them wwhile they're sleeping, but make sure one of you stays at home.
Reply:For my kids it is one dollar per tooth, except molars are five, and dentist pulling was two, and the terrible scooter accident that lost three permanent teeth cost me more than you can imagine lol!!!!
Reply:Mine always gets $5. I wish the tooth fairy was that generous when I was a kid!!! lol
Reply:I dunno about money but maybe write letters from her "tooth fairy" give her a name and hobbies, just have fun with it.
Reply:My son got 5 for his first tooth, BUT that was only because the tooth fairy didn't have change in his pocket. And now he only gets 50 cents per tooth. If you pay them too much per tooth, or for anything you pay them for they start to think there is a money tree somewhere and don't appreciate or understand how money works.
