My 5 year old just lost her first tooth
What does the tooth fairy leave for the first tooth these days?
I left a dollar or two, and a foreign coin. We told our son that the tooth fairy must have come from Italy, or Germany, or wherever the coin was from. I found the coins at a coin dealer, who had a tray full of them laying out on the counter.
Reply:I left a $5 bill for the first one and then 2-3 dollars for the others, but I've heard I'm high. What I did do on the first time was sprinkle dusting glitter "fairy dust" all over her pillow the first time and she thought that was pretty cool.
Reply:well my child's tooth fairly leaves a dollar coin or 50 cent piece, and my child LOVES them.
but for other kids, shoot these days with inflation it is probably around 20 bucks!
oh and also we put the teeth in a glass of water in the kitchen, the tooth fairy has never had a child wake up while she was working!
Reply:a dollar
Reply:$1.00 for my 9 year old.
Reply:Ours left $5
Reply:The tooth fairy left my daughter a 20 (I know it is high but she is an only child) and a letter every time which she still has and thinks its awesome! The tooth fairy also leaves a tooth brush and tooth paste at my home wrapped in pretty ribbon even if she looses teeth close together last time she left her some sugar free gum and floss. Now her teeth are worth 5 buck a piece.
*I like that foreign coin idea above me I think I might borrow that*
Reply:Our tooth fairy leaves a gold dollar coin.
I got the book "Twinke the Tooth Fairy" when that first one started getting loose, and that is what they use in the book. Just this week, my daughter lost her 6th or 7th and we still use the little velvet bag that come with the book.
Reply:I left one dollar.
Reply:When my kids were little, i would leave a dollar... but then I was told that was high... Now a days $1 won't buy much as it did then! So, maybe $2 or 3 would be okay lol...
Reply:NOTHING LESS THAN AN IPOD........(OR MAYBE A 2 DOLLAR BILL)
Reply:Most people leave money...however I choose to leave a lil' "happy" AND a note from the tooth fairy. Something like this: Dear ____ (put your child's name here) I'm so glad that you are becoming a "big boy/girl". It's nice to see that you brush your teeth like you're supposed to. Keep up the good work. Hugs and happy brushing...the tooth fairy. Now I've done this and started a scrap book with all these lil' notes. Our son can share it with his kids when he has them. Again; we choose to leave something other than money. Anything that your child is interested in. Final note: the reason we choose NOT to give money is because our son actually started RIPPING his teeth out to get money for them. Yikes! Then the tooth fairy had to write a note of disapproval.
Reply:When I was little, 28 years ago, the tooth fairy would leave nice shiny 50 cent pieces. The tooth fairy still does that for my little boys now :) We had our boys make their own special little pillow to put the teeth in as well so that the fairy would know which boy lost the tooth and so that the fairy could keep track. :) I think any more than a shiny one dollar coin is ridiculous. Most little kids don't know the value of money anyway and are happy with whatever they get. If you think they should get more, start out smaller and add a little every couple teeth or something.
Reply:I actually checked with other parents in my daughters preschool last year when she lost her first tooth!!
The going rate in our area is $5 for the first tooth and $1 for teeth after that.
Reply:I think i left a Susan B. Anthony silver dollar for the first one but I have also left a few chuck e. cheese tokens before, and regular dollars. Once I even left a Barbie Doll. I had to put it under her pillow right before it was time for her to get up though so she didn't have this big lump under her pillow! That was her fav gift cause it was her first Barbie and she had been wanting one for a while.
Reply:40p in our house (that's just under $1). Same for all the others.
Reply:I left 5 dollars for my son when he lost his first tooth. That was the only one I payed for cause he said that the tooth fairy had better leave him $100 for his tooth or she would never get another one. Well she never got another one and I should have had a video camera the next morning he was so mad. I did the same thing with my daughter on her first tooth and gave her $5.00 and well I had to watch her b/c she pulled 2 more teeth the very next day b/c she thought she would get the same amount for each tooth. The other to teeth were not ready to come out loose but not ready so she went for 3 months with out her front teeth. So really it is up to you how much you want to give.
Reply:i gave my daughter 5 toonies (ten bucks) Coins seem to be more special to a 5 year old and they are gold so.... i didnt know either what to give. ( i got a pair of mittens when i was little lol) cant go wrong with a couple bucks.
Reply:Ours left a much-wanted ($10-$15 value) toy the first time, and then $2 for teeth and $5 for molars.
Reply:my nephew gets $5 for a first tooth then $2 a tooth after that. you explain that the first tooth is needed for the tooth fairy to make a necklace and that it is special so they get more for the one tooth. this worked for us.
Reply:like 5 or 10 dollars
Reply:I'd say 5 bucks. That's what I got for each tooth (except one time). One time (this is hilarious) my mom, dad, aunt, and grandpa (it was at a family gathering) all left me 5 bucks for 1 tooth (thinking that no one else had done it yet) so I got 20 bucks for 1 dinky tooth!
Reply:I gave my daughter two dollars the first time. The tooth fairy left a note saying after this, she gives a 1 dollar
I left the tooth in a plastic bag, and took the bag, and replaced it with one with the note and money
The plastic bag, is easier to fine that the tooth
Reply:a dollar maybe 50 cents
Reply:toothfairies are fake but leave somthing like a book or money
1 tooth-5 bucks
molars-6 bucks
other teeth 2 bucks
Reply:I left my son a transformer toy and a stuffed animal. It was by far better than money to him. I'd say a five spot if you want to put money into it. A dollar is too cheap.
Reply:i gave my son $5 for his first tooth. now he gets $1 for every other tooth. when he loses molars, i will give him $2.
Reply:Our Tooth Fairy left a $2.00 coin and a Hot Wheels car (and a sprinkling of glitter-- uh, fairy dust).
And he left her a half a jelly bean and a tiny thimble of water.
Reply:My kids get $1.00
