How much does the tooth fairy give?

I stick to about 3-4 dollars a tooth. I've heard kids getting 10.00 I thought that a bit excessive?

How much does the tooth fairy give?
RULE OF THUMB FOR A ROOKIE TOOTH FAIRY!!!!!! EVERY TOOTH IS WORTH A DOLLAR PLUS THE DIFFERENT LOSSES TACKS ON MORE $$$ !!!!! NOW, LETS GET INTO THE ADD ONS..... WAS THERE PAIN WITH THE TOOTH LOSS IF SO ADD 2 DOLLARS. FOR ANY TOOTH PULLED ADD 2 DOLLARS. WAS IT A FRONT TOOTH ADD A DOLLAR IF IT WAS TWO FRONT TEETH GIVE THE KIDDO FIVE BUCKS BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO HEAR THAT DUMB SONG ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS OVER AND OVER. A MOLAR THESES DAYS GO FOR ABOUT 3 BUCKS AND IF THEY HAVE A CAPPED TOOTH ADD 3 BUCKS BECAUSE YOU KNOW THE PRICE OF METAL HAS GONE UP. IF ITS A ACCIDENTAL LOSS GIVE THEM A ADDITIONAL 2 DOLLARS. THEY WORLD HAS CHANGED SINCE WE WERE KIDS IT'S MORE COMPLICATED MAKE IT FUN FOR YOUR LITTLE ONE. NOW IF WE COULD ONLY CAPITALIZE ON GETTING THE MONEY BACK AS EACH TOOTH COMES BACK WE WOULD HAVE SOMETHING GOING FOR US PARENTS. GOOD LUCK HONEY
Reply:Guess it depends on if you own a Chevy or Lexus.
Reply:you get money,,,tell that chick she owes me about $100 bucks
Reply:My tooth fairy is lazy...*smurf*
Reply:I leave 4 quarters...dollars are for helping clean, tens are for allowance...give too much and they will always expect it,you dont want to chance letting them afford drugs.
Reply:depending how much the tooth fariy (parents) want to leave you
Reply:I used to get only a quarter! At most fifty cents! I don't think the tooth fairy liked me that much. To this day I don't have any cavities. (I'm 23. I'm so mad at the tooth fairy that I no longer believe in it!)
Reply:In my neck of the woods, the tooth fairy brings $1. My daughter decided her teeth were worth more than that and she hasn't given them over to the tooth fairy.
Reply:Yikes! $10????? I don't even give the $3 to $4 you give so your kid is already lucky!

For the first tooth we give more and if it's a traumatic one when it comes out (like a lot of blood). It's usually $2 or less per tooth here, depending on what the fairy happens to have on her that night. A lot of time she'll leave a $1 bill, a quarter, a dime, a nickle and a penny. It's usually a little different each time.
Reply:I guess the tooth fairy is cheap at my house. My kids get $5 for the 1st tooth, and $1 for every tooth after that
Reply:Mix it up. And if the journey to losing the tooth (getting it pulled, their first one, etc) you may consider more.
Reply:My brother and sister get 10 $ a tooth, its a little excessive, but the only lose there baby teeth once.
Reply:I think it depends on what the childs parents do for a living... Mine got a couple of bucks when he was younger and then knocked another out becuase he thought it was easy money. A little goes a long way with a small child. TJB
Reply:it all depends on your local toothfairy union. For some reason, the toothfairies at Grandma's house always pay better.
Reply:I think you put a good amount
Reply:i used to get 5 dollars
Reply:That sounds right. The only time we've resorted to leaving a $10 (actually a $20) was once when dad had nothing smaller in his wallet at the time went ahead and left the $20. My guess is if they get a $5 or $10 it was due to lack of planning!
Reply:My kids get $5 for their first tooth and $1 for everyone after that.
Reply:dollars!? I prayed for 50 cents and was happy with a quarter,

It just shows how and why life is getting so ruff

for real workers to make a living!

I want your tooth fairy to come to my house I have a tooth to pic with her!!
Reply:i think $100 for each tooth that'll make em loose em fast
Reply:My 11 year old daughter is happy with a gold Saskatchewan dollar!
Reply:i have to agree with the previous posters... the first tooth is worth $5 in the gold-colored dollar coins... every tooth thereafter is $1 unless there are extenuating circumstances. for example, my one son had to have to of his baby incisors pulled at 6 years old, as his secondary teeth grew straight up behind it and never disinegrated the root properly for it to become "loose." these 2 were worth $5 in the dollar coins apiece for the sheer trauma!

the only time the kids ever receive the coins is from the tooth fairy!
Reply:at our house (we had three) for the first tooth the tooth fairy gave a dollar.....for each other tooth the fairy left whatever she could find in mom and dads change box....when my husband was little he never got any and for me the most i ever rec. was 50c
Reply:Well funny thing you asked this my daughter is wondering about when the tooth fairy comes and what she will bring. For some reason my daughter believes that the Tooth Fairy will leave her coins under her pillow. I just thought that was so cute when she told me that the tooth fairy leaves coins under kids pillows. So I may just end up leaving Quarter's under her pillow maybe 3 to 5 dollars in quarters for her first tooth and the tooths following I'd leave her a dollar in quarters. But thats just me. Thats crazy to be giving 10 dollars I'm not that rich.
Reply:Loosing the first tooth is pretty special and bittersweet. We give 5.00 for the first tooth AND a book! And then a dollar for every other tooth lost.

I think anything over 2.00 (other than a first tooth) is way to much.
Reply:i guess it depends how tight the tooth fairies budget is,i remember getting .50 under my pillow when i was little and i was tickled to death!i can say from experience they are little give them a dollar or two at the most no more! i gave each of my sons 20 bucks for their first tooth and when they lost their second i gave them 5 and they thought the tooth fairy was ripping them off,if you give them alot one time they will expect more and more each time, besides they will problem want to buy junk or candy like mine do and i feel its a waste.
Reply:I told my daughter that the first tooth is $10, the second is $5, then rest is a dollar or two. The first tooth was special because she was soooo excited and tried to stay up to see the toothfairy. I put the money in a decorated envelope w/ a note...she loved it.

The second tooth was just the $5 and she was disappointed that she didn't get a letter w/ it....go figure.
Reply:i think $2 is enough or kids would go about punching their teeth out for cash.
Reply:I got about $20.00 for a tooth
Reply:I always got 1one dollar from the tooth fairy. My last baby tooth I got $5.
Reply:My children didn't have a tooth fairy but I think the this will work anyway. I pay on the condition of the tooth. The worse the tooth the better the buy pack. I've paid anywhere from 1-5 dollars a tooth. I found it gets my boys motivated to brush and even floss!!
