What is the going rate for a 6-year old's front tooth? I used to get 25 cents; my son is sure he will get at least a dollar.
How much is the Tooth Fairy paying these days?
I started at 50 cents and increased the amount with each lost tooth.
Leave what ever you feel is reasonable and a new tooth brush?
Reply:a dollar sounds reasonable
Reply:depends on how much change i have
Reply:hmm..the first tooth is always a little more than the others..but anywhere from 25 cents to a dollar is good..It's what ever you feel comfortable giving him. I would say a dollar in my opinion though.
I would give it to him in change though...It just looks like the tooth fairy gave it to him then. =)
Reply:two dollars make him happy
Reply:one dollar cuz if you give him more he will always expect you to give him more, and if hes only 6 he prly has quite a few more teeth to lose and you dont wanna file for bankrupcy giving this kid money for teeth!!
Reply:a dollar. Inflation is a horrible thing!
Reply:a dollar sounds good.. most parents give 25 cents but the child always expects more.
Reply:Ohhh...I don't know. When I was little I used to get like 5 bucks! Maybe i was spoiled or something. I thought that was normal...
Reply:My daughter has only lost her 2 front bottom teeth for now, but she showed me how the top ones are "wiggly" so it won't be long now.
I actually didn't give her a set amount, I gave her what ever spare change her Daddy had in his pocket that night!!! She really has no concept of money yet and she thought she was rich. She couldn't wait to put it in her piggy bank!
Reply:Aww! I remember getting a quarter too! A dollar does seem reasonable- the first tooth is always special anyways! But give it to him in quarters. Thats what the tooth fairies in childrens movies use! 4 shiny quarters under his pillow when he wakes up... He's going to be very happy :)
Reply:LOL a toonie per tooth
Reply:25 cents and a dollar man your tooth fairy is cheap. I always got at least five bucks from my tooth fairy, and that's what I plan on giving my kids too....
Reply:Please don't give more than a dollar. I think a dollar is completely unreasonable for a tooth, but these days (i also used to get a quarter) the going price for teeth has gone up. When you start giving children more than a dollar for teeth, other kids get concerned and upset. When a child loses a tooth, he or she will go to school and brag about it and the amount of money the tooth fairy left. If this is substantially more than other children get, they will feel like the toothfairy doesn't like them.
When I worked in childcare, I had a boy who's mom...whom the toothfairy left $10 for. It was very upsetting for the other kids. Not saying you were considering ten dollars, but it's just an example
Reply:i got at least twenty-dollars for my first tooth, 10 for my next 5 for the next and three after that and it stayed at three for a while
Reply:$5 for regular teeth and $10 for molars or silver fillings.
Reply:Me and my sister used to get two dollars. I still think a dollar could be reasonable though.
Reply:A dollar for the big ones, like front teeth, and for smaller I would say 50 cents. =] If it's his first tooth you should give him a dollar and 50 cents leave a little note saying he got a little extra because it's his first tooth. =] And to not spend it all in one place. ;-D
Reply:I always got a dollar. One time she was a day late so she gave me three dollars to make up for it. =]
Reply:Oh, the tooth fairy made a BIG mistake when she came to our house for the first time... she left $5.00 and made a BIG deal out of my son losing his first tooth...
Well, being the guy that he is, he began wiggling all of his other teeth, because he just KNEW that she was going to leave $5.00 for each of them!!!
Needless to say, she has left $5.00 every time except once, when she only had about $1.67 with her...! We explained that maybe he was the last one on her route that night and she was practically out of money...!
We're in Tennessee (in case you wondered what part of the country).
