My son lost his first tooth today on the bottom. What should the toothfairy give?
Tooth fairy for 7 year old first tooth lost?
I'd say about $5. That's how much I got for mine.
I've known people who got $20 for their tooth, but that seems outrageous!
Reply:$1? Change just doesn't cut it for kids who are older than 7 anymore. :)
Reply:This is funny!!!
We were out of town visiting family when my son lost his first tooth, I guess everyone thought that I would forget to give him money so they all slipped some under his pillow...the "Tooth Fairy" left my son $30 that night...but every tooth after that has gotten him a dollar!
Reply:Since it's the first tooth, I would say $5.
Hope he enjoys the money!!!
Reply:Give him $2. It'll only end up costing you $60 in the long run to see the excitement on his face. Well worth the price of admission.
Reply:either 5 dollars OR a beanie baby or something like that
Reply:The Tooth Fairy brings $5 for the first tooth and $1 for every tooth after.
She also puts the first tooth under Mommy's pillow as a special present
Reply:"My son lost his first tooth today on the bottom."
That is unusual. Most people only have teeth in their mouths. You better take him to a doctor.
Reply:as you obviously know the tooth fairy does not exist. and understand now that your son is 7 he will be frequenting this event. so the first tooth should be something that is cool and all but money is an old thing. give him a small item that he will appreciate and enjoy for awhile (around a month) put a small sticker on it that looks legit and says: From The Tooth Fairy To (insert son's name here). from that tooth on give him smaller items maybe a five dollar gift card to seven eleven, or sweet factory.
OR
if you prefer to go with money make sure its a reasonable sum for a 7 year old. maybe like $25 and from that tooth on give him $15 or $10.

Tooth fairy money?
What's the going rate for a tooth these days? My little girl is about to lose a tooth. I use to get a quarter or fifty cents I think. But with inflation I'm guessing things have changed.
Tooth fairy money?
i started out getting a quarter then i got a dollar then twoo the five and five for the rest of my life!!!
Reply:When I was a kid(I'm 23 now) my brother and I got a dollar bill every time we lost a tooth. I think that's about all I'd give my child... maybe $2, nothing more than that though.
Reply:How old is she.. I put a dollar for my 8 year old.
Reply:My oldest daughter got $5, she's 11.
My son who is 9 got $10 and my youngest just lost her first tooth about a year ago and she got $20..
However, the same youngest child just lost two teeth in a row. and she only got a buck each tooth.
Reply:I give my son a dollar. I don't think it really matters though. When those kids see any kind of money, it gets exciting.
Reply:I go with about $1.00. Then for the biggies like molars, etc. I raise it to a couple of dollars.
Reply:I would get anywhere from 50 cents for $1 ( I am 22 now). To a child it does not make much difference, and I always thought the quarters were the most fun b/c you had more than one.
Reply:well we give 5 bucks.. just enough for the WOW factor.. i mean it needs to be special
Reply:I have friends that give $5, but I find $1 is just enough to be able to spend on something -- at the dollar store, maybe, but not so much I go bankrupt :)
Reply:I was given a dollar at any age. You know how much things cost of what she is going to buy. If you think she will just buy a candy bar, give her a dollar. If you think she is going to buy a box of crayons, give her 5. Just go with what you find appropriate.
Reply:ask your neighbors! my daughter and the kid across the street lost teeth around the same time and we gave my daughter $20 and the kid across the street cried because she only got $1 and she thought the tooth fairie didn't like her!
Reply:Well, for the first tooth she got $10, but was told that after that she would only receive $1.00. I felt that the first tooth is a big deal and she should be able to get enough money to go out and buy something with it!
Reply:i got 25 cents- two dollars
Reply:5-15 dollars
Reply:i give my kids 1 pound i think thats roughly around 2 dollars ,inflations tough i remember my mum giving me 20 pence as a child lol.
Reply:I'd think long and hard, because kids have a lot of teeth. It seems exciting when they lose the first one, but they keep coming out. Plus if you have more than one kid you have to repeat all this.
I think one dollar is probably enough, but the problem is is that they want you to spend your time going to the dollar store and look around forever to buy some junky stuff that breaks or they forget about in half a day.
I'm not sure what the solution is, but just realize that you are setting a precedent, so be careful.
Reply:£1 I think?, we are about to enter this phase here!
Reply:I got 1 dollar. Than 3. But than when it came to my last 5 teeth which were being pulled by my brother because I had an appointment to get braces so that was 8 bucks. I admit. I was spoiled.
3 bucks is great or 2
Reply:I get 10 dollars under my pillow and 10 in my lunchbox. But if you want you can give her 5 dollars under her pillow plus a special"surprise" like a small toy!It will make her feel special.
Reply:My 2 oldest children have always gotten $1.00 for each tooth that they lose.
Reply:5.00. This will give your kid some excitement, but wont have your money flying away.
Reply:my daughter is 7 and has lost 6 teeth so far what I have done is given her 2 dollars worth of quarters each one she lost and she gets so excited because it seems like so much money, then she asks me to take her to the dollar store lol
Reply:1st tooth is 25 cents
and then increase to 50 cents until you get to the molars like the big teeth, the last to go then put one dollar for those
Reply:First of all, let me say, I don't advise this and this wouldn't have been the "going rate" in our house. This is just a funny story I wanted to share! When our daughter lost her first tooth, it was looser than we thought. Neither my husband nor I had any small bills (we had planned to leave a dollar or two). All we could find was a roll of dimes! She was very happy!!! It took a few more teeth to work our way back down! Poor thing! We told her you got lots of money for the first tooth!

1) My name is (use your daughters name) She'll like that she shares a name with the tooth fairy.
2)Because I'm at school too. I have to take a lot of classes to be a good tooth fairy.

4)All tooth fairies who get good grades in school are allowed to have wings so we can get to where children like you, live.
5) My best friends name is (use a pets name), preferably your house cat. Since fairies are friends with cats, this will make sence to your daughter.

If your child is still very young, there's no need to shatter their illusions. Let them believe in the tooth fairy for as long as you like, it certainly doesn't hurt. In the world we live in today, their illusions will be shattered soon enough. I'd keep them as innocent as I could for as long as I could!

Reply:Tell her that you took her letter before the tooth fairy got it. The tooth fairy is magic and you have to believe magic. If you ask questions, the magic disappears. Ask her if she really wants you to give the letter to the tooth fairy or if she wants to just let it be mysterious and magical and unknown.

3) I live in fairyland, but come to visit your world at night. It is fun to visit boys and girls and leave gifts under their pillows!
4) I have wings to fly around in your world, but in fairyland noone needs wings, because flying is normal!
5) My best friend's name is Christie - but there are many fairies, and I have many friends.
Reply:Uptown6haha has a really great answer, for my two cents I wouldn't reply to her letter. I'd explain to her that these things are magic and the thing about magic is that you have to have faith and accept them as they are without asking too many questions, or it wouldn't be magic anymore.

What do you think about letting kids believe in fairy tales?Santa claus, tooth fairy etc.Plz.look at details.?
I have a 5 year old cousin that i watch alot and i don't know wheather i'm doing right by letting her think there are fairies ect.Her mom doesn't spend time with her so i guess i'm the mother figure for her.I don't want mess her up by letting her think they real and one day look back and think i was a lier.I would appreciate help. She's about to lose a tooth.

Whats wrong with letting her believe? We all did when we were little and it didnt scar us for life. I think it just gives kids hope and imagination. Nothing wrong with that. Make her childhood as normal as possible, especially since she doesnt get attention from her Mother!
Reply:let she belive in fairy tales and other like that.u was like her
Reply:Do not impress upon her, but yes, if they do not beleive in fairy tales initially, they will loose creativity for life.
It is not a lie but what you instill within them is HOPE. Have the tooth fairy bring her something, in time she will know that the real fairies and knights are within us, among us, what she will feel for you she may not have it even for her mother. Make life a wonderfull experience for her.
One day she will have to face the real world, don't you want to see her ready and soft harded for that time. Miracles are not in fairy tales anymore they have become a part of our lives.
There was no magic when the cobbler and his wife would receive two pairs of shows every morning, eventually they find out that they were little creatures helping a poor man out -and they left when they both got rewarded for it too.
The morals have to be explained to her.
Carry on the good work, and God bless you.
Reply:You should let her believe in fairy tales and everything, it is a part of childhood every child needs to experience. By the age of 7 she will find out the truth so let her have her fun time now because childhood is priceless. It also develops imagination. good luck
Reply:let her do watch what she wants, nothings wrong with it, plus, she's still 5 years old, and she will analyze that in the future.
Reply:for me, santa clause, tooth fairies, etc are not true. but that's on my opinion only. but noone can tell the truth because all of us are only humans so don't make her believe instantly. but of course at a stage of childhood, let her to make her imaginations widen. you can't tell when she frow up maybe because of it she will discover by herself. that is the best way on it, for me. but that is ot such a liar. you are only encouraging her, right???

Reply:This is a really tough situation. I think it is have been acceptable by the society for so long to have kids believe in imaginary fairies and Santa etc. People have actually forgotten that in reality they are lying to their children, some people actually go as far as defending this ideology. The situation is that if you don't tell the kid about fairies and such the next person will and the story books will and so on; in essences the kid may become more conflicted with believing what is real and what is not. I think kids figure out the reality from fiction sooner or later on their own or when they go to school and have a social group. It is totally up to you as to what to tell this child. Good luck!
Reply:Believing in make believe is part of the magic of being a child. I know when my daughter finds out it is not true it will hurt me more than her. Put on some Barney and have fun figuring out how to play the tooth fairy, easter bunny, santa etc. You can revisit your childhood in a way through your niece. I have my daughter write a letter to the tooth fairy and it is something that we do together.

Hey Tooth Fairy...?
Do you keep all those teeth? If so, why and what do you do w/them? (this fairy has missplaced a few) Also, what is the going rate in your house these days?
Hey Tooth Fairy...?
I keep the ones I can, but sometimes they fall out at school etc and you can't get them..they are lost...we do a dollar from the tooth fairy..if it's a tooth they just wouldn't come out and it was a pain we may do two dollars....how fun.
Reply:NO!!! you don't have to keep the teeth they are never going to need or use them in life later on so i would say no you don't have to keep them! lol. in less you want to!!! =)
Reply:We turn the teeth into love!
Depending on how old the child and how much love the tooth can be exchanged for is the going rate.
In England averages £1-£5 pounds.
So I think (as a tooth fairy) 5 dollars is quite suitable!!
With love THE TOOTH FAIRY! =D
Reply:I would say 2 to 3 dollars.
after the first couple teeth...
i dont think you need to keep them all.
unless you plan on using them to craft a tooth house,
or something of that sort. ;)
hope this helps!! good luck.
Reply:Yukkk. Don't keep the teeth. Going rate for teeth in our home is two dollars. Pain or no pain. Kids love the tooth fairy
Reply:this tooth fairy kept the first lost tooth for the baby books, then " lost" the rest. the going rate in our house is 2$
Reply:I never kept my daughter's teeth, and she usually got 2-3$ per tooth.

So atheists think it's "unethical" to tell your kids there's a God and a Santa...what about the tooth fairy?
It's the tooth fairy more acceptable because she's presumably non-Chrisitan?
So atheists think it's "unethical" to tell your kids there's a God and a Santa...what about the tooth fairy?
I'm an atheist and I don't think it's unethical to tell your kids Santa Claus and the tooth fairy exist. I had a lot of fun believing in them! But children are acquiring information about the world quickly and uncritically, and so they will believe much of what you say without question. So I think it is unethical to say as a fact that there is a god(s), especially if you are limiting which god(s) it is. I also think it would be unethical to say as a fact that there are no gods.
Reply:I never said it was unethical. By the way, Santa is a bit non-Christian too.
Reply:Fairies in general should not be talked about. I myself have always been opposed to fairies.
Reply:Who told you that?
I'd quite happily tell my children there's santa, until they're older.
As for go, I don't think I'd say there was, nor that there wasn't until I was either asked by them, or they reached an age I thought was appropriate, at which point I would explain my lack of faith, but also explain the concept of a god and leave the choice to them.
As for the tooth fairy... Well, what's wrong about bribing children to rip out their teeth if they feel loose?
Reply:Yep, the tooth fairy too. I'll be letting my kiddo know that the tooth fairy is also a "fun game" to play. If the kiddo isn't interested, the game won't be played.
Reply:I don't think it's unethical to tell my children about God and Santa. I think it's unethical to brain wash a child before they even have the chance to form their own opinion.
Why do all Christians insist on making generalizations like this? It just proves their ignorance.
Reply:I find that it is morally questionable to lie for any purpose.
Tooth fairy included.
Reply:Sure is...all stories alleging the existence of mythical beings, religious or otherwise should not be told to children in a perfect world.
Reply:you can't solve all the worlds (and peoples) problems hon. just let some things be and bother not in such affairs. you being right on this one is of no value but to yourself right?
Reply:I would have no problem telling any hypothetical children that Santa, Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy exist. I believe children are a lot smarter than some give them credit for. I know as a child I listened to the stories of The Tooth Fairy, but I knew it was my Dad who put the money there. And besides, I haven't seen any legislation coming up for voting that would force Fairy doctrine to be taught at school.
Reply:I don't lie to my fiance's daughter about any of those things (i.e. tooth fairy, Santa etc)
We're teaching her how important the truth is, so why lie?
Reply:who said that? all of my children did comparative religion at school, all got 'A's and one is definitely an atheists two may be agnostic. i don't really know because i don't ask them about religion. and one of the saddest moments in my life was when my oldest daughters told me that her friend's mother had told her that santa didn't exist and i had to confirm it. a little bit of the magic went out of christmas.
Reply:SSShhhhh!!! I just had my last fitting for my wings on Tuesday. If the Tooth Fairy does not exist... well...there goes my extra job!
Otherwise, you seem to have answered your own question.... anything to invalidate religion is acceptable in their eyes.
Have a blessed day.

Reply:its very comical that some atheist say that teaching yur children about God, and TRUTH is child abuse... i mean, how oblivious can you be.. teaching your child that there is a greater loving power watching over them, and loving them, and will handle all their problems... teaching them to love others as we are supposed to according to the Bible... and to be selfless and giving beings... yeah, that is sooo child abuse!!(heavy sarcasm)
if you ask me, i believe its child abuse to tell your children without a doubt that there isnt a god, or heaven or anything like that... becaue unlike teaching your children truth, you are ultimately responsible for their judgement in the end...children look up to their parents, and most likely go in the same direction as the parent... so, if a parent is constantly "preaching" that there is no god and its just a fairy tale, they will most likely hold to that belief... so, my question is, how can they call truth child abuse, but being responsible for their childs eternal suffering, isnt??
Reply:I really would not know what an atheist thinks about the tooth fairy, but, if I had to guess, I would think they would see it as one big conspiracy by the Christians to brainwash their children into becoming Christians. LOL
Reply:fairy tales are cool for children as long as you do not explain them away!
