Christians, why can't you understand that God to Atheists is like the tooth fairy to you?

Just imagine someone saying,

"You need to accept the tooth fairy before it's to late"

Does that sound retarded or what?

You sound like a bunch of dellusional crazy people

Christians, why can't you understand that God to Atheists is like the tooth fairy to you?
Yes we have been told until you guys have become redundant that we should understand that God is not real. And we have answered back just as often that you have no faith and that is fine but do not begreudge me mine. I do not belittle you because you do not believe. I might wish I could talk you into belief but I know that if you do not want to hear then you wont. So I respect your right to be an atheist and wish you would respect mine to be a Christian. Is that too much to ask?
Reply:alrighty then. oz has spoken!
Reply:You should study other Religions in a professional atmosphere before you go putting other peoples' Religions down. Many Christians don't put Atheism down. That's between you and whoever.
Reply:Simple. Because the Christians can use historical and scientific evidence to corroborate what is in the Bible.

Can't do THAT with the tooth fairy.

But you can believe whatever you want to. I just hope you're right.
Reply:Is someone harassing you to believe in God again, they should just leave you alone.

A Christian.
Reply:I don't waste my time ridiculing those who do believe in thew tooth fairy.... why do the Atheists feel that they must ridicule christians?
Reply:than why are you here? why not spend your time on something else if god does not exist....no atheist has answered this question yet
Reply:We do understand that, which is one reason why some of us do not program our children to believe in such things as the tooth fairy or santa claus.

In teaching our children to believe in such things and then one day telling them that they are not real, we have programmed them to shove Jesus Christ, their personal Lord and Savior into the same category as the tooth fairy and santa, just as you have done here today. Sad!
Reply:Swoosh.......over the heads it went.
Reply:You have to understand that there's more to belief in God than you'd guess from talking to the average fundamentalist.

Have you read any of the classical philosophical arguments for God's existence? Anselm? Aquinas? Kant? Hartshorne? Crack those (some of the greatest minds in human history) and then decide if God is in the same category as the tooth fairy.

If you're an atheist without ever having engaged the most potent arguments for theism, you're a pretty poor atheist.
Reply:i understand it, i'm not saying that to you.
Reply:Tell me if this sounds delusional. I don't believe in Space Aliens so I hang out in UFO questions and answers trying to prove to all the UFO people that space aliens don't exist. I am either 1. Not secure in my disbelief of aliens or 2. Just a disrespectful jerk that likes to see people get upset.

I hope you are not secure in your beliefs.

:)

May GOD richly bless you anyway.
Reply:You just quoted just what the Bible sya you would say, Ummmm.

Interesting%26gt;

1Cr 2:14 But people who aren't Christians can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means.

1Cr 2:15 We who have the Spirit understand these things, but others can't understand us at all.
Reply:its understandable what they think, but it's our job to introduce them to jesus, and some times we do win souls so you don't give up you keep trying
Reply:You are 100% correct.

Talking to a Fundie is like talking to a lead brick.

BTW, I'm not trying to slam the moderate people who come here to openly discuss things!

(How many 'I forgive yous' is this going to generate!!!?)
Reply:So, uh, does this tooth fairy have a church set up? Lord knows I don't want to burn in tooth fairy hell.
Reply:To be blunt like you. Why can't you understand that no God the Christians is like no life (suicide, no meaning) to Atheists. If were not here for a purpose, then there's no reason to stay. Your life means nothing to yourself. Now how sad and pathetic is that?
Reply:Why can't you understand that's between you and God? Gods got His own covered. We'll see who is retarded, delusional and crazy in the end. OK?
Reply:There is a reason why they sound deillusional-most of them are!

Why is Black Atheist here? because he cares about the world he lives in and would desperately like to keep others from being spiritually abused by Xtianity's message of death.
Reply:I'm a Christian, but what you want to believe or not believe isn't really my business, nor my concern.

I'm far from delusional and/or crazy. What I don't understand is why people such as yourself feel the need to attack someone's opposing viewpoint and/or belief?
Reply:You don't believe in the tooth fairy?Everybody knows the tooth fairy exists!
Reply:I used to be an atheist. Do you not know that your question is not rational? seeing I know your mind? as I once was just like you... How is it you atheists can not understand this simple thing?
Reply:OK, show me some type of circumstantial evidence that the tooth fairy came back from the dead and started a movement that totally changed the world, and maybe I'll believe you.

--------------------------------------...

...Frank Morrison, a British lawyer of the 1930s, undertook an expedition to collect circumstantial evidence to disprove the resurrection. Such evidence, of course, is admissible in all courts of law in civilised countries to prove or disprove events of which there are no living eyewitnesses. When he analysed the evidence, he reached a stunning conclusion: The resurrection had actually taken place! Morrison presented his case in his book, "Who Moved the Stone?"

Another factor worth considering is the character of the disciples. They were eleven cowardly men who shut themselves in a room after the crucifixion because they were afraid. Yet what galvanized them into action so that within their own lifetime, much of the thenknown world could hear the message of Christ? Some of them paid for this message with their lives. Would they have done so if the resurrection were a hoax?...
Reply:I do understand and I'm sure there is no words powerful enough to convince you otherwise. However, that does not exclude my right to my views and opinion or being allowed to voice them just like you.
Reply:If they could just get this through their heads, it would be possible to have a real conversation with them.
