Is there a tooth fairy in Belarus?

We have an 8 year old Belarussian girl staying with us. She lost a tooth. Does the tooth fairy come to children in Belarus? Is there another tradition I should know about?

Is there a tooth fairy in Belarus?
No, there is no tooth fairy.

I lived there and I know exactly.
Reply:no. there is no tooth fairy
Reply:you should ask what happens when she has lost a tooth in the past. maybe she'll tell you what happens.

it wouldn't hurt to have the tooth fairy come, since she could learn about another culture and their traditions
Reply:you are the tooth fairy, dont be too cheap. That's the way it's done here.
Reply:no there is not a tooth fairy...and no tradition about it...oh, there might be one..we say that a little mouse came and stole the tooth...have to grow new ones now, and take care of it..
Reply:Just teach her about the tooth fairy in this country.
Reply:I would imagine that there is no tooth fairy.. but I would go ahead and teach her an american custom - she will get a charge out of it. Be careful though.. my 8 year old Belarussian daughter has been known to pull her own teeth out hoping for more visits from the tooth fairy.
Reply:get real there is no tooth fairy
Reply:Tooth fairy would need a visa to Belarus, because she resides somewhere on the American continent. So, if she only has change (and not paper money, money order...), she can't get a visa. There you go - she never goes to Belarus, because her little wings cannot carry her across the Atlantic ocean.
