When does the tooth fairy stop visiting?

At what point did you stop the tooth fairy? When all the first teeth had gone? The fairy is very much on the go in our house but I don't know when a good point to call it a day is. I would appreciate any ideas you have or suggestions with what you did.

When does the tooth fairy stop visiting?
The tooth fairy can stop visiting when the kids stop losing teeth. Play along as long as possible. Children grow up too quick. As long as they are still enjoying the tooth fairy's visits, keep it up! You'll miss doing it when they get older.
Reply:Yes but you will have plenty of practice when they are older and have their own children to enjoy the magic all over again my 2 eldest kids know there is no santa and toothfairy any more but its now my 3 year olds turn and they are forced to play along with it because its her turn now!!! Report It

Reply:When they are tweleve....and its funny when they loose those last molars...and they are joking with you about how much the tooth fairy is going to leave them...
Reply:when they stop believing in the tooth fairy, round about the same time as they stop believing in santa clause
Reply:After they have lost all their teeth and gotten their adult teeth.
Reply:In my opinion it should not end until the child finds out it is not real.
Reply:I stopped when my daughter rolled over in her "sleep" and said I KNEW it was you mom, where's my dollar?"
Reply:Either when they've lost all their teeth...

Or...

When they know you're the tooth fairy.
Reply:When all there are no more teeth to loose anymore. The rate of money never went up. It was still $1 for a lost tooth even at 13.
Reply:I would stop it when all the baby teeth fall out, you could explain that the tooth fairy is only little and only needs small teeth! I know someone who got money when her tooth got taken out at the dentist! I certainly won't be doing that with my son!
Reply:When they stop believing!
Reply:the tooth fairy stopped for me when my mum accidently woke me up as she was putting 10p under my pillow.
Reply:I thought it was when all baby teeth have gone. I knew the fairy didn't exist before that but still got money! Mind you I might have been a bit spilt coz Santa still came until I left home at 16!
Reply:when all the baby teeth are gone
Reply:The "tooth fairy" should come until they lose all thier teeth.

Your child may know before that, it just a game. But it still makes them feel special to get money under the pillow. No need to take it away.
Reply:When they realize the Tooth Fairy isn't real or when they stop losing teeth - which ever comes first.
Reply:We stopped at 10.
Reply:my oldest is 17-1/2, my youngest is turned 10 in august. she still believes in santa and the tooth-fairy and easter bunny. I have tried to let her believe that, because I thought it was important for their childhood to believe and imagine. What do i know?::I'm not sure whether she DOES really believe in it or not? or does she know and is trying to to advantage of us? .....You know she's pretty slick sometimes! But anyways, to make a long story short....I don't know the answer to that one either, I suppose we just wait until they say something....If they ever do!
Reply:what a lovely question.

My best guess would be when the child no longers plays along with the game. The age of innocence is all too soon lost.
Reply:The tooth fairy never stops visiting, the price just higher with the age of the child who has lost the tooth!
Reply:My mum used to tell me that the tooth fairy only collects milk teeth...adult teeth are to be treasured and looked after :)

It worked with me so I imagine I'll be doing the same with my kids.
Reply:As soon as all the baby teeth are lost, and the adult teeth are in (usually around age 11)- I remember that's when the visits stopped for me as a child.
Reply:When they loose all their teeth.
Reply:The tooth fairy stopped visiting my house when my son was 9 or 10. Some kids told him it wasn't true and he came home to ask me about it. I told him the truth, since he wasn't a baby anymore, and now we have fun when he does lose his teeth by making funny faces at each other and letting him put them in a special place with his other baby teeth.
Reply:I think when all the baby teeth are lost.
Reply:I would say when all the baby teeth are gone.
Reply:I stopped when my children didn't believe anymore...then the amounts went up...as if they pull their own teeth they got 1 dollar ( I think), if I had to pull it, they got 50 cents....
Reply:is the tooth fairy not real then??????????????
Reply:When they have lost all their baby teeth and got adult teeth or they find out the tooth fairy isnt real any more
Reply:My parents stopped when the mornng after the tooth fairy visited, I ran downstairs to tell my parents that the tooth fairy had left fairy dust. They were confused and went to my room. Sure enough, there was "fairy dust" leading a path right to my bed. My mom broke the news and informed me that it was not fairy dust, it was the baby powder she sometimes puts on her feet at night. :(
Reply:errrrmmmm mine stopped for a few years but now the dentist says she will have to start visiting again "wonder why"
Reply:You should when you find out they stopped beleiving if you dont then figure out if they still beleive in the easter bunny or santa and that should tell you.
