Okay, so I have a question about the tooth fairy. My daughter is five and my step son is 7. He's lost several teeth and his mom puts his tooth under his pillow and she takes it and leaves $. That's the way my mom did it too. That is also the was I've been doing it with my daughter. She lost her 3rd tooth just now and is in Kindergarten. If the kids loose a tooth they can bring it to school and she gives them a necklace to put it in or something. Sooo...what should I do about the tooth fairy tonight? Wait until tomorrow night maybe? What do you do?
The tooth fairy........?
I would give her the $ tonight
Reply:My mom would leave the tooth and give me money so I could keep it in a special box. I still have some of my teeth somewhere in my garage. I'm 29 years old now.
Reply:me as a teenager knows you should give tonight because she will start questioning if the tooth fairy is real are not
Reply:put the tooth under the blanket
Reply:yea it wouldn't hurt to wait. And she will feel like she had the chance to participate in something special with the class.
Reply:Wait until tomorrow night so she can take it to school and tell her why you aren't putting it under her pillow tonight.
Reply:Put the tooth under the pillow, with a special note to the Tooth Fairy asking if she could leave the tooth - just this once - for your daughter to take to kindy. Read the note to you daughter so she knows what's going on.
I would also have a word to the kindy teacher, who probably doesn't realise that she is sabotaging the wonder and mystery of the Tooth Fairy by getting the kids to bring their teeth to kindy. Everyone knows the Tooth Fairy takes the tooth and leaves the money in recompense! Why is this teacher bucking the system? It's important that this is brought to the teacher's attention, nicely. Please do.
Reply:put the tooth under her pillow and give her the money but in the morning explain to her that you spoke with the tooth fairy and she gave you the tooth so she can take it to school.
Reply:I give my son money and then take the tooth. I have a safe keep in my room with his baby teeth in it. I know it sounds strange but It is a special occasion for me when he grows up a little. Obviously he does not know I know this keep sake. If she takes the tooth to school then you will have to explain to her why the tooth fairy did not take the tooth when she left money.
Reply:Tooth Fairy always comes the day/night the child looses the tooth. Don't wait. However leave a note for your child from the tooth fairy saying something like this:
Dear ________
I know that you want to take your tooth to school so I have left this one tooth behind this time for you to share.
Brush for at least 2 minutes every day.
Love you,
Tooth Fairy
Final note: we always leave a tooth fairy note behind. I've collected them over the years. :-) What a great Mommy you are!
One last thing: Some children LOSE their teeth at school and this is why they are given something to put it in to bring home. I'm sure she wants to share is all. I think it's a great idea the school has done. Our school does it here also. Kudos to your school.
Reply:Leave a note for the tooth fairy that the tooth is going to school and will be there for pickup the next night.
