What's the going rate these days?
Tooth fairy?
My 6 year old just lost his 1st tooth today!
Tonight the Tooth Fairy will leave a £1 coin plus a lucky sixpence (I think the Tooth Fairy gets them from eBay) for his bravery with it being his 1st tooth.
Well... I am assuming that's what the fairy will do - she did that for his older brother and I'm sure she treats all children equally!!
Have a magical day. xxx
Reply:Thank You for choosing me as the best answer!! On eBay (UK) seller 'flisher5333' sent a sixpence beautifully packaged with a little wooden fairy on the back of the envelope. Lovely!! Happy Fairy Day. xxxx Report It
Reply:£1 a tooth
Reply:I live in Cyprus and was giving my kids 50 cents a tooth!
Reply:My daughter tells me it's £1 in her UK based 1st year class (they're 5/6 yr olds)
Wasn't pleased when the tooth fairy only left her 20p :S before I was scorned after she learnt of the £1 coin received by her friend.
Reply:£1 per tooth I'm afraid!
Reply:Depends on the size of tooth. Molar i would give £2 and the rest £1. There isn't a going rate just depends on how generous you feel and how much you like spoiling your kids.
Reply:£2 flat rate no reductions for incisors I'm afraid
Reply:In the USA I'd guess about $1 a tooth
Reply:my niece informed me that she got £2 for the first tooth that came out then £1 for the rest tha funny thing is i said lucky you i only got 50p when i was your age and the cheeky girl said you shouldnt be so old then, just got to love kids lol
Reply:£1 a tooth, damn inflation costs!
Reply:$.50
Reply:It's £1 a tooth.
Reply:I think 50p is more than fair enough.
HOWEVER, I have to now admit that I go into the post office and get my daughter a £5.00 coin (only a coin though, NOT a note) and she saves them. She is now ten but I don't give her regular pocket money, when her little brother starts losing his teeth I might give him 50p + a small toy car - as he loves his cars, therefore they get what they want (within reason).
Reply:The 'tooth fairy' leaves £1 (per tooth) in our house.
Reply:£1 per tooth in our house
Reply:We do $1 a tooth - but $5 for the very first tooth lost since that is a special one.
Reply:I leave a pound for every tooth I gather!
Reply:depends on how many kids you have i think
i only have the one so i say 2dollars to 5dollars a tooth,,
Reply:In Australia, the going rate in our household is $1.00. That tooth fairy is mighty generous!
Reply:well my son lost his first tooth recently but i didnt have any money, when i did i gave him £2 (guilt)
Reply:I gave my granddaughter $2.00 for hers....maybe I'm cheap, but it's more than the dime I got!!!
Reply:I must be a right soft touch my daughter who is 10 has just lost a pre molar and that cost me £5 mind you she is a wimp and when she knocked it by brushing her she didn't cry so that bumped the cost up
Reply:i tend to give 1.00 to 5.00 dolllars a tooth. why because she will want to spend it on something and 1 dollar does not buy much these days.
Reply:We never used money. We used books. Her first one was a book about losing a tooth. The other books have been "Junie B Jones" books and so forth.
Reply:a quid per tooth.
Reply:£1 a tooth
Reply:Josh it was 6d when I was small that is 2 1/2p in todays money.
Reply:The tooth fairy doesnt exist.. neither does the Easter bunny.
Call me heartless.. but I just dont see the point! My daughter still gets money for her first few teeth %26amp; gifts at Easter... but itsnot tied into any Fairies or imaginary bunnies!
Dont see the need to lie to children. Having said that... I do believe in Santa! Well... im not that bad!
Reply:Whatever you start you have to continue. I'd put 50p. £1 absolute max - but just think how many teeth they are and they all seem to fall out at the same time!!
Reply:10 DKK or about a quid
