My son lost his first baby tooth and I was wondering how much to leave under his pillow.
What is the going rate for the tooth fairy to leave under the pillow?
A couple bucks ($5 at most) for the 1st tooth, $1 every one thereafter. Don't get too cheap (or too expensive)--kids talk to other kids about that stuff.
Reply:A dollar.
Reply:$1-$5. make it a smaller amount and work your way up
Reply:$2
Reply:I tend to leave my son about $5-7 when he loses a tooth...not sure if this is the going rate, but it's all that our tooth fairy leaves...lol.
Reply:a dollar.
Reply:For the first one I say around $5 and from there $1
Reply:depends on age. i would say... 'bout a $1 or 2. but silver is $4.
Reply:well we use to a quarter but some now leave dollar bills my sister does, I guess the kids have found another way to get more out of us,
Reply:$5 at the most. Any more than that and they'll be knocking their teeth out on purpose.
Reply:A pound
Reply:$1 for me
Reply:4 his 1st tooth give him $20. then work ur way down.
Reply:Wow. There are a lot of very generous ppl on here. 50 cents is plenty. A couple bucks a tooth is ridiculous. They will expect more as they get older. Trust me.
Reply:$5.00 for a molar, $1.00 for any other type
Reply:When I was little it was a dollar, so I would put a Tonnie, just cause times have changed and things cost more then it use too.
Reply:a 1$ bill, and 4 state quarters. (My kids collect them)
Reply:5 silver dollars that way they you can try and make save them. It's better then using dollar bills
Reply:I am a teacher and have heard lots of tooth fairy stories. One family actually has the tooth fairy leave presents for each tooth lost.
Most get a dollar.
The others say five.
I think it all depends on what the parent has at the time!
Reply:with the rate of inflation nowadays, think you better put a hundred bucks...
Reply:Hello. - In my opinion, $1.00.
Have a nice day. :)
Reply:I would say about $10 bucks now days.
Althoug if your child has many teeth falling out
at the same time do 10 bucks for the first one
and 5bucks for the next couple.
Reply:I was living at home with my parents when my daughter lost her first tooth and before i could get in there my dad had slipped in and left a 20.00 bill under her pillow. So of course she expected that for the second but we explained to her it was a first tooth so that's why she got so much. Every tooth after that i left 1-3 dollars.
Of course years later i married and had a son and when he lost his first tooth she told him how much the tooth fairy left her for her first tooth and of course he was looking for the same. I couldn't let him not get the same as her so he got 20.00 for the first.
So be aware whatever your oldest gets they will tell their siblings and they will expect the same.
I was gonna leave 5.00
Reply:when i was young half the time my mother couldn't afford it but i think you should start at $.50 he's young and just to have 2 quaters of his own would be a big deal then work your way up
